TisTalk – What’s on w/c 6 May 2024

 

On Tuesday evening the TISBURY CADET FORCE DETACHMENT is meeting in the Victoria Hall at 6:30 for 7pm. 

And at 7pm, all are welcome to attend the TISBURY PARISH COUNCIL meeting which will be held in the Parish Reading Room.

 

On Wednesday, the DINTON & NADDER VALLEY WI is holding its ‘Resolutions Meeting’ at 10am. Contact dintonwi@gmail.com for details.

And TIS-TOTS is in the Methodist Church from 10am-11am.

At 6pm there is a SERVICE OF WHOLENESS AND HEALING at St John’s Church.

 

On Thursday there is the ANNUAL PARISH MEETING & WEST TISBURY PARISH COUNCIL meeting in the Hinton Hall at 7pm. There will be an update on the Stubbles Play area and all are welcome.

 

 

On Friday, the TISBURY COMMUNITY CHOIR SPRING CONCERT is in the Victoria Hall. Doors and bar open at 7pm and the performance starts at 7:30pm. 

 

 

On Saturday morning TISBURY FOOTPATH CLUB’s 5-mile walk is around Shaftesbury, starting from the Nadder Close Car Park at 9:15am. Text Jennifer Day to book a place on 07970 113467.

 

And the Tisbury Gardening Club are holding a PLANT & GARDENING JUMBLE SALE in the Hinton Hall Car Park at 10am.

 

This Saturday morning is also the start of Hindon’s SATURDAY MARKETS at Blythe House which will be running for the next 7 weeks. Homemade produce, eggs and plants will all be on sale from 10am.

 

[On Saturday afternoon, from 12pm-9pm, there is a FAMILY FUN DAY, at Salisbury Rugby Club. Proceeds in aid of Salisbury Hospice.]

 

On Saturday evening, Soprano Joelene Griffiths and Baritone Ambrose Connolly are performing OPERATIC FAVOURITES at St Peter’s Church, Shaftesbury at 7pm. Tickets are available through the TicketSource website and are £20, with under 16s free.  

 

Also on Saturday evening, NT Live will be showing NYE, a new play featuring Michael Sheen playing Nye Bevan. This is in the Victoria Hall with doors and bar opening at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Tickets are £15 and £8 for under 18s. 

 

 

On Sunday evening, the Magic Lantern Film Club is showing THE WELL DIGGER’S DAUGHTER, a French film with subtitles, in the Victoria Hall.  Doors and bar open at 6:30 for a 7:00pm start. Tickets are £8 for non-members.

 

 

And looking ahead to next week, the TISBURY FOOTPATH MAINTENANCE CLUB are meeting on Monday 13th at 9:30am. You need not be a member to join this gathering. Call Roger Walker on 01747 871105 for more details.
