TisTalk – What’s on w/c 22 April 2024
On Tuesday the CARER CAFE is at Beatons Tearooms from 10:30am-12 noon. This is a relaxed, friendly gathering for chats, cake and a cuppa. A trained volunteer from Carer Support Wiltshire will be available to welcome anyone interested in popping along.
On Wednesday TIS-TOTS is in the Methodist Church from 10am-11:30am.
And on Wednesday evening, there is the 1st of 2 TISBURY FIRE STATION RECRUITMENT Events from 5pm-8pm at Tisbury Fire Station. For more information, contact Watch Manager, Sarah Wheeler on 07825 997265.
On Thursday, Wiltshire Sight are hosting the first of its monthly COMMUNITY SIGHT LOSS HUB in the Nadder Centre from 11am-1pm. The Hub will provide an opportunity for people living with sight loss to meet, share experiences, get advice and be part of a new social group.
In the evening, there is a Bat and Astro Observation NIGHT WALK, celebrating Tisbury’s Dark Skies and its community of bats. This will start at the Nadder Centre at 7:15pm for a short briefing and the issue of bat detectors. The walk will take place in Jubilee Meadow and finish at 9pm. Also on Thursday evening, the Lamb in Hindon is hosting its monthly QUIZ at 7:30pm. Teams of up to 6 are welcome when you prebook a table.
On Friday, there is FAMILY FRIDAY in the Methodist Church from 3:30-5pm
Also on Friday afternoon and again in the evening, Carnival Film are showing OPPENHEIMER, the multi Oscar winning film Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Cillian Murphy. Screening will be in the Victoria Hall, with the matinee at 2pm and the evening performance at 7pm. The bar will be open 30 minutes prior to both shows. Tickets are £8 and £5 for under 18s.
Saturday morning has an array of activities on offer:
· There is the TISBURY FOOTPATH CLUB’s Spring outing to Bridport. With 3 walks of varying length from which to chose, 10.5, 8 and 5 miles. It’s a 9am start from Nadder Centre Car Park, returning by 6pm. To book a space, contact Roger Walker by phone or text on 07891 442664 or email juderoguk@btinternet.com.
· There is also another opportunity to try Croquet at the Tisbury Bowls and Croquet OPEN DAY from 11am-3pm.
· And there is the 2nd of TISBURY FIRE STATION’s RECRITUMENT Events which is at 10am-2pm.
On Sunday, there is a CHARITY OPEN GARDENS at Fonthill House which will include live music and stalls. This is from 12pm to 5pm.
In the evening, the ROH Ballet Encore is showing SWAN LAKE in the Victoria Hall at 5pm with the bar open from 4:30pm. Running time is 200 minutes and there will be 2 intervals. Tickets are £15 and £8 for under 18s.
